Product Description

Gulbransen Artcase Console #478075

Founded in Chicago in 1904, Gulbransen was a major contributor to the American piano industry in the early 20th Century. Gulbransen produced a full line of upright and grand pianos, but they were likely the largest maker of player pianos in the Pre-Depression era. Their player pianos were labeled ‘Gulbransen-Dickenson’, as Dickenson was a partner with Gulbransen in their player piano line. Gulbransen claimed that their player pianos were the easiest to pump in the industry so easy, a baby could do it! After the Great Depression, Gulbransen produced several lines of spinets, consoles and small baby grand pianos. Gulbransen changed ownership several times throughout the 20th Century, and today the name is still being built in electronic keyboards and organs.

This particular Gulbransen is what is known as a console piano which is a great starter piano. It is a beautifully designed piano sure to enrich the decor of a home.  It is also affordable, easy to maintain and will satisfy the needs of most beginning to intermediate pianists. Having a serviced, real piano action to play on in the beginning of a pianists career teaches him/her how to play correctly and without forming “bad habits” in their technique. This piano will cost less than any quality, entry level, keyboard and will not lose value like a keyboard will. As long as a piano is kept serviced it’ll hold it’s value for years to come.
