I teach all levels and ages and tailor my lessons specifically to a student’s ability to hear, read and feel. Each person learns differently and absorbs information differently. My skill is in being able to teach to people who struggle as well as to the most inherently talented and gifted pianists. I hold a masters degree in Piano performance and have over thirty years of teaching children and adults. I have performed with the windham community orchestra in southern Vermont and with many chamber music ensembles as well as having performed solo recitals and master classes.
I have expertise from the German and Russian schools of training in technique and delight in passing this on as I teach. I am not hanging out a shingle-I am a REAL PIANO TEACHER! I am not about reading the notes and playing them back. I believe in a full and rich understanding of music in all aspects: historically, technically, theoretically , and interpretatively. If you are rhythmically challenged I will have you drumming and dancing and if you are reading challenged I will have you feeling distances not note names.
