PETROF MAKI-E Grand Piano

Description

PETROF MAKI-E GRAND PIANO

Atelier Mitani, in cooperation with PETROF, has created a unique instrument that combines Japanese craftmanship and music, precision and piano construction from the Czech Republic. With the use of the traditional Japanese technique of maki-e (sprinkled picture in Japanese)  the piano is decorated with butterfly motives. Maki-e involves painting lacquer designs onto the surface of an object with a fine brush, then sprinkling gold powder onto the lacquer while it is still wet, resulting in elegant and luxurious decorations.   One of these is the national butterfly of Japan called Japanese Emperor. When changing the incident light, butterflies look alive. The grass is represented by a cut of golden slices, along with the inserted mother-of-pearl pieces.  The result is a one of a kind magnificent piano that not only looks beautiful but because of the skilled craftsmanship and excellent materials used in the construction sound beautiful. Truly a treasure to own and to pass down to future generations.
